Taking a Trip to the East Coast?

Simple Girl Scraps has the cutest kit with journal cards and woody papers that is perfect for any East Coast trips, but I loved it for my own local crab-loving 6 year old.  I just loved all the navy blue, red and whites.  Such fun nautical elements, too!  Here is one page that I just made with it.

And also this one

You can pick up the pieces from Gingerscraps

Check her out!'

Fall is Here!

Boy, have the months flown by.  I have been more busy than I ever have before.  Since I last posted here, we have sold our old house and bought a new (much bigger) one.  We went from a postage stamp yard to 2 acres to take care of.

I even changed my siggy for it

This even looks like my life!  We still have boxes all over and are trying to find room for things!  But we love the new house so much.

So, I scrapbooked some of the changes over the past few months.  To start, I will a little trepidicious.

Then, the excitement started to build and the waiting was so hard

I can see more layout about getting our keys

But, one of the first big changes was all the fresh fruit and veggies
We worried about our kitty
But one of my favorite parts is when the sun comes up

So much change, but so wonderful!  I think that now that things have settled down, I can keep up better her! LOL

Featured Designer - Inspired Designs

Since my life now revolves so much around scrapbooking, I thought it would be fun to do a monthly Featured Designer.  Every month, I will spot light a designer for you to check out.
This month, I am showing off Crystal of Inspired Designs.  The first time I came across her designs was when her kit Forever Yours came out.  With a monkey-lover in my house, I knew that I needed to buy it right away.  We had even just done a Sock Monkey Birthday Party.  I loved the kit so much that later, it was a $2 Tuesday special and I bought it again *blush!
I did a page of all the sock monkeys from the birthday and then couldn't decide and did another.  Which do you prefer?

For the most part, everything the same, but I have such a hard time with white space, I felt like I needed to fill it, so I added the big close-up.

The layouts used her kit and Little Rad Trio's template

Then, more recently, I scrapbooked an new layout with her kit - One of Kind.  Perfect for those of us with little boys to scrap about

Such a cute kit with lots of stars, signs and cute papers.

Another one that I did awhile back included her fun Right Here Right Now Today Pocket cards, that helped me put together a layout of my then recent tooth issue

So, go check out her shop!

Sailing Through September!

The time has flown so quickly.  The last time I posted was August 9th and here it is 9/23!  How does that happen?  I guess Life Happens!!
Since that time, my kids have all started back to school - and boy was that a huge deal.  All 4 kids in school for the first time in 16 years!  I have no little ones at home in the morning, but that time goes fast though.  It also means that I have 4 different school schedules to keep track of and I am the family taxi.
With all my kids so big, I love to scrapbook older photos and reminisce over those little faces.  This month, I spent more time on older photos than normal.  I have been scouring my older photos and trying to clean up my digital files.  That is a HUGE job in itself.  My old "vault" with pictures from 2000-2010 has 15,000 photos on it!

Here is the oldest one - My Grandpa and his friend Oakie in about 1949 using Gingerscraps Buffet pieces from
Dagi's Temp-taions - Autumn Glory Templates
Little Rad Trio - Fishing Fun
Pixelily Outdoor Explore Artsy Papers

When my youngest started school, I did a little looking back to when my now 10th grader started Kindergarten from 10 years ago.
Dear Friends Designs - Through the Years - Kindergarten
Clever Monkey Graphics - School Rules

I did this double page spread from 4 years ago and my son's friend's 1st birthday party in the park.
Also with Buffet items, it includes
Dear Friends Designs - Celebrate
Aprilisa Designs - Picnic in the Park
B2N2 Scraps - The Great Outdoors Patterned Papers
Pixelily Designs - Outdoor Explore
Connie Prince - Nature Walk Kit
Boomers Girls Designs - Beach Boys Extra Alphas

I just love looking at these pics of my little man as a baby!  I had snapped these pictures of him at the library and used a dinosaur kit that matches his outfit that I loved and a play on words.
Magical Scraps Galore - Prehistoric World
Dear Friends Designs - Shape Me Template

Then, I re-scrapped a page that I did awhile ago that I just never loved.  Do you ever have that, where you just don't love how a page turns out.  LJS came out with a kit for empty-nesters - meaning parents whose kids have left the nest, but I couldn't help but re-do this page of an actual nest with it's baby birds.
JB Studio - Incredible Life Vol 4 Temp 3
LJS Designs - Empty Nest

Boys are so much fun.  You have to let them play in the mud and dirt and worms - it is just a boy thing!!
Leaving A Legacy Designs - Mud Pies and Gray Skies
Little Rad Trio - Think About It template

Here is another old one.  I just love fall!  All the apples, pumpkins, cool weather.  So, I just love all the kits that come out this time of the year.
House Party Template by Little Rad Trio
Apple-icious by LJS Designs
And here are a few more Fall Ones
LJS Designs - Fall Frolics
Dear Friends Designs - Grab Bag #1 (Random Memories)

And for Gingerscraps 7th birthday, there were a bunch of $5 grab bags with tons of goodies
Clever Monkey Graphics Grab Bag for $5 during GS birthday - Happy Fall Y'All (recolored teal flowers, leaves, purple big flower and orange alpha to periwinkle)
Dear Friends Designs - Grab Bag #1 Assemble
LJS Designs On the Boardwalk (Ice Cream Cone)

Look for another post from me soon with some more scrapping goodies!
Until then, Happy Fall to you

MHK Scraps & Mad Tea Parties

I was so excited to find out that I was paired with MHK Scraps at Gingerscraps.  It is always nice to get to work with a designer who loved Disney, too!  :D

She has numerous kits that are Disney related.  I chose to work with World of Fantasy first.  She has 4 separate pieces to choose from.  I worked with her main kit and her alpha for my layout.  It has all those beautiful Fantasyland colors, plus great elements like the Castle, Tea Cups, Carousel Horse and even Pixie Dust!

She also has World of Fantasy Add-On
And World of Fantasy Icing
You can get the whole bundle for $10.99, or just pick up the pieces that you want.

I did this layout of the Mad Tea Cups with it.
I was able to complete the Gingerscraps December Recipe Challenge using the kit and Seatrout Scraps Template called See Right Through Me.  I just love how it turned out!
Check it out!

New Kits, New Creative Team, New Scrapbook Pages

Good Morning Digi Peeps!
I am so excited to announce that I was selected to be a Guest Creative Team member for Gingerscraps scrapbooking site.  For the month of December, I get to work with all new (Fresh Baked) kits that the wonderful designers there come up with.  I also was pared up with MHK Scraps to make layouts with her amazing kits (she has some Disney ones, too :D ).  It is going to be a fun month!

First I wanted to share this Fresh Baked item from Luv Ewe Designs called Winter Wonderland.
http://store.gingerscraps.net/images/P/led_wonderland_previewGS.jpg
She also created coordinating Extra Papers

The aquas and snowflakes were so pretty to work with.  Last December we an overnight freeze and this kit was perfect to showcase it.  I also used this month's template challenge free template by Dagi called What's In Your Pocket.  You too can go and download this free template and join in the template challenge!  If you complete 10 challenges, you receive a huge kit!

I also got to work with the Gingerbread Ladies collab called the Monthly Mix.  This month they created this gorgeous kit called Holiday Joy.  This HUGE Collab is only $5.25 all month long.

Look at all those papers and elements.  Not only was I able to make a cute layout of our kitty under the tree, but I used it to make my siggy, too.

Look for more fun this month!
Talk to you soon

Designer Celeste Knight has a new release today called Happy Camper.  Perfect timing for all those great camping pictures.  We love to go camping every summer and when I saw that great bear element with the word art "Stay Wild", I knew exactly what I wanted to highlight - Wild Yosemite!  We love Yosemite and the natural wild beauty there.  It was amazes me to see people who want to feed or pet the animals there.  So, KEEP YOSEMITE wild and beautiful for years to come!

CT Hybrid Quilling Blog Post for Celeste Knight

Hello all!  I have been so busy recently that I have not even come over to update anything.  One big happening in my world is that I was asked to be on  The Sweet Caroline Studio's Creative Team!  I was shocked to be asked.  Besides making digital layouts with Celeste Knight's wonderful scrapbook kits, I also will periodically do blog posts for her blog.  This month, I did a blog post on how I created these fun frames which I made as end of year teacher presents using Celeste's Wildflower full kit.

Go check out the blog to see how to make these beautiful gifts with quilling

New Year, New Beginnings

hello all of you out in digi-land!

I am not sure about you, but New Year's is so wonderful.  It is a great chance to start fresh, make new promises (even if you break them) and just plain look forward & up!  I have never been huge into the resolutions that many make since they seem so fleeting, so I don't usually use those words.  Instead, I try to make myself promises to do better.
After spending the entire month of December with my entire family sick, I REALLY wanted to start the new year fresh.  I looked at what things I could make a difference in.
One big one is to make a conscious effort to think positively - boy is that harder than it seems.
Of course, I also made some healthy promises.  Drink more water (always), eat smaller meals, and drink less soda.  Eh, not doing so hot, but it is an on-going battle.
My last promise is to get my scrapbook albums DONE.  It seemed silly to me that I scrapbook all the time and gets tons of pages done, but not actual  albums done and that even if they are done, they aren't printed and in my hands.
I jumped right onto the 2012 album that I tried to do last year and had only gotten to early February with a smattering of misc pages done throughout.   So far, this month, I have done 34 pages, with 28 of those pages for the 2012 February & March album.  I feel like I am actually making progress!  The next time that Persnickety has a print sale, I plan on printing a batch of whatever is done so that I can start enjoying them now!

So, rather it is for New Year's or anytime - make a promise to yourself to make improvements.  Even if you change your mind or don't get very far, you will get farther than if you hadn't tried at all.
